Clueless flight attendant to passenger: Turn off that iPhone movie NOW!

an ATA Airlines flight attendant tried to get a passengerto turn off his iPhone because, well, cell phones are not allowed to be used in flight and he was watching a movie on his iPhone. The passenger, who we know as Casey, tried to explain to the flight attendant that the iPhone was in airplane mode.

Robotic Cell Phone Friends

Japan, known for their advanced cell phone technologies, has come out with a new advancement that will allow you to truly call your phone a friend. In April 2008, Softbank Mobile Corp, a Japanese company, will release the PhoneBraver, which is a new type of cell phone that doubles as a little robotic friend, ready to chat. Simply attach it’s little arms and leg to your phone and it will display various different faces on the phone. PhoneBraver, cannot actually move, but can learn habits and display text messages to you when you make certain actions on the phone.

Mobile phone use linked to brain tumors –study

Use of mobile phone may significantly raise the risk of brain tumor in those who use this modern telecommunication tool for more than ten years, a new epidemiological study suggests. The Finnish study found that those who had regularly used mobile phones for more than ten years were 40 percent more likely to develop brain tumors known as gliomas on the side where they hold their phones.

Google's Android OS early look SDK now available

Just like the good folks promised, the early look software development kit for Google's soon-to-be huge phone OS has hit the streets... er, internet. From what we can tell, the OS is as comfortable on larger, VGA devices as it is on more traditional smartphone layouts. Oh yeah... and it plays Quake. Here's what we know the software will support out of the box: Touchscreen, 3G, Webkit-based browser, Optimized Java runtime layer (known as Dalvik Virtual Machine), Threaded text messaging, MPEG-4, h.264, MP3, and AAC file formats, Accelerated 3D graphics.

Mobile phone cancer study 'flawed'

A study that researchers claim suggests links between using mobile phones and brain tumours is flawed, radiation experts have said. The National Radiological Protection Board (NRPB), which advises the government on safety levels, said the study "lacks statistical precision" to draw such conclusions.
