Isis: Drug halved bad cholesterol

Isis Pharmaceuticals' experimental drug to lower cholesterol caused by an inherited condition showed positive results in a three-person Phase 2 study. The drug, which the Carlsbad-based company has not yet named, reduced the “bad,” or LDL, cholesterol levels by half, when given with other lipid lowering therapies, according to data presented at the American College of Cardiology meeting.
