Abstract:
For June, Sarah Kellnhofer will be describing her heart transplant surgery experience.
This opens the gate for discussion on a number of future medicine topics -- the most obvious being the future of surgery, including heart transplant surgery, and the future of health insurance, and the whole financial side of healthcare (do we really want to know how much this operation cost?). From there we can explore the possibilities -- or not? -- in stem cell research, and other cutting-edge (oops, pun not intended but allowed to stand once recognized) topics in medical research.
I'm definitely looking forward to hearing all about Sarah's unique experience. I'd like to thank Sarah in advance for being so gracious to come and talk with us about it!

Awesome meeting last night with Sarah Kellnhofer describing
her heart transplant surgery!
I'll be posting the audio + powerpoint from tonight's
meeting. And you'll want to watch it because next month we
are also going to be talking about "Future Medicine" again
-- we spent most of our time this month talking about heart
transplant surgery and didn't get into to stem cells and
biochips and all our other "futurist" topics -- so we will
do them next month.
We also had a great time wandering Pearl Street afterwards.
